Similarly, a lack of coal and iron means that shooters and cannons will cease to fire their weapons whereas a lack of gold will mean that units which require maintenance paid will commit mutiny against the state. Depleted resources would result in an undesirable penalty for the player such as a lack of food will signify a famine for the state and the player's units will die from lack of supplies. Depending on the type of unit or structure being built, the amount of resources needed to create a unit/structure would inflate quantitatively with each successive one built or trained. Wood and stone are gathered by conventional means and there are also specific areas where these may be collected. Gold, iron and coal may only be acquired by constructing mines over a designated resource area and sending peasants into them whereas food is cultivated from mills and via the use of fishing boats. These are gold, wood, food, stone, iron and coal. There are 6 basic resources in the game that are crucial to the player's military victory. Mods can mark this as solved if they wish. Simply set the files dcmr.exe, dmln.exe, and HView.exe compatibility mode to Windows XP (Service Pack 3) to fix it. Even a complete reinstall of the game doesn't fix these problems.Īny ideas? Is there a config file where I can manually force a resolution change? I can't find it.Įdit: Nevermind, I found a fix.
Any attempt to start a battle just gives me a blank screen and then a crash now. Now when I go back into the game it won't let me change resolution at all in the options and the entry for resolution is blank and stays that way no matter how many times I click it. The game speed change wasn't causing any problems before. The game was working fine for multiple runs, but it suddenly crashed when changing the game speed to slow. Lucian_Galca: As the title says, I can no longer change resolution in Cossacks: European Wars after the game crashed to desktop.
